JAINDL PROPERTIES PURCHASES 1425 W. HAMILTON STREET
Jaindl Properties Purchases Historic Taylor Mansion In Continual Effort To Improve The Historic West Park District Of Allentown
ALLENTOWN, PA – December 16th, 2014 – On Monday Jaindl Properties purchased 1425 W. Hamilton Street, one of the historic homes along the West Park’s “Mansion Row.” The 7,358 square foot home was originally built in 1908 by John Taylor, who was applauded for his unique and masterful use of French Empire-Revival style architecture. Mr. Taylor built his fortune in dry goods, finding most of his success after moving to Allentown and opening The Globe Store on the northwest corner of Center Square on the site of what is now the PPL Center.
This is the company’s third acquisition of a historic property in the West Park District. In October 2011 Jaindl Properties purchased 1519 W. Hamilton Street, which underwent a full year renovation to restore the home to its original grandeur. In May 2014 the company purchased 1516 W. Court Street, originally part of the 1519 W. Hamilton Street property, and united the two buildings for the first time in three decades.
Allentown is in the midst of a tremendous redevelopment right now, and while most attention is on our city’s urban core and riverside projects, we should not overlook our other culture- rich districts. West Park’s proximity to Allentown’s urban core makes it an attractive, yet affordable, neighborhood for redevelopment.

While the building was last used as a multi-tenanted office, zoning allows for a multitude of uses. Jaindl Properties plans on running the appropriate analyses to maximize the effectiveness of the space while ensuring community improvement. The building will go under renovation in the 1Q 2015.
Jaindl Properties was founded in 2011 by Mark W. Jaindl and his son, Zachary J. Jaindl. Since its formation the company has embarked on a number of historical renovation, preservation and redevelopment projects, including the Lehigh Valley Trust Building in Center City Allentown and the 1,000,000 square foot redevelopment of the former Lehigh Structural Steel into a vibrant mixed-use development that will be known as The Waterfront.
